I am a 68 year old female patient and I trust Dr Terrell implicitly with any health issues that I have. She is extremely thoughtful and listens carefully to any problems that I have. Last year I had a urinary tract infection which did not respond to previous antibiotics prescribed but she was able to prescribe an antibiotic which immediately took effect and I was so grateful. More recently I saw Dr Terrell with skin and hearing problems. I made an appointment on the day, was seen promptly at the appointment time, and the issues were dealt with sympathetically and efficiently.

As a 68 year old patient of Dr. Terrell for many years, her genuine interest in the patient, her cheerfulness and approachable nature makes it very easy to discuss with her medical issues. Dr. Terrell is extremely thorough and perceptive in her examinations and I have total trust in her judgement. She identified a heart defect of which I had always been unaware. She also diagnosed that I was suffering from chronic sinusitis, aggravated by various allergies and presenting itself as long, drawn out, recurring virus infections. She also regularly monitors my blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Any referrals Dr. Terrell has made have been carried out swiftly. Both myself and my wife consider ourselves very fortunate to have such a genuinely caring, approachable and effective doctor, a real asset to the surgery.

I was very impressed that soon after I was diagnosed with melanoma, I received a personal letter from Dr Terrell offering support from the practice. Armed with a number of questions I made an appointment and Dr Terrell listened carefully, gave me informed answers and was most reassuring. This personal involvement was greatly appreciated and was a great help in gaining some perspective about my situation. When I mentioned this to my friends and relatives, they all said that I was very fortunate to have such a caring doctor. I agree!

You always feel Dr Terrell is interested in listening to you. She looks at you when you are talking to her. She is a very caring and compassionate doctor. You never feel you are being rushed to finish a consultation. You leave her room feeling that all your questions have been answered and your fears allayed. I would highly recommend her.

Specialises in

  • General Practice
  • Palliative medicine

Profile

I’m now an Independent GP Locum happily working in Maidstone and surrounding villages. I am also one of the Lead GP in Frailty working for West Kent CCG and supporting a Pilot of the Frequent User Service Worker Project.

I care about my patients and have always welcomed feedback to allow me to reflect and develop. I enjoy my job, but would welcome more time with each patient. The NHS has failed to keep pace with the complexity of modern General Practice and the time that it needs to be safe and effective.

My special interests are palliative care, paediatrics, communication skills, diabetes and dermatology. I am trained to perform minor operations and injections for arthritis and trigger finger. In the past I have been Partner for 19 years and have been GP Appraiser and GP Macmillan Facilitator Cancer and Palliative Care.

In my free time, I’m mother of 3 enthusiastic boys and understand the challenges of being a working parent. I love to be creative and be with my friends and family. I enjoy to travel and learn from other countries and cultures.
